On My Nails

I've gotten way into nail art recently, and this is what I've been sporting.

For this, I painted all my nails in a bright nail polish, and then did the crappiest of flowers in my ring fingers.

Half-moon manicure done free handed at the nail salon, and a cross in contrasting colors on my index finger. For this manicure, I chose Essie's 'Absolutely Shore' and 'Dive Bar'.

Are you into nail art too? Show me your designs!

March Favorites

Wow. I haven't updated this in ages! To give a heads up of what's been going on with my life, I got a job. A job in advertising. Not at all what I spent five years in college for, but I'm having a good time and I can say I love working.
As part of my job, I work very closely with beauty products, and in the past few months I've become an absolute beauty junkie. Here are my favorite products for the month of March:

Clarisonic Mia - $119
My favorite product of them all! It's an amazing product and best of all, it really does work! My skin is far from perfect, and even though I don't have acne, I have hyper-pigmentation and previous blemishes have left my cheeks very ugly. I've only used my Clarisonic for a few weeks, and the difference is noticeable. My skin is softer than ever, more luminous and even though the scarring from previous pimples hasn't disappeared, it is far less noticeable. I will do a more in-depth review later on.

philosophy: Purity Made Simple - $20
Facial Cleansing Gel & Eye Makeup Remover
I'd been loving the original Purity Made Simple cleanser since I got a sample on Birchbox, and wanted to get it to use along with the Clarisonic Mia. The Beauty Consultant at Sephora recommended this new version, though, since my skin can get pretty oily. It gets all of the makeup off, and also works as an eye makeup remover, which is a big plus when removing waterproof mascara. A total must-have.

Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser - $8
I will accept that I have an obsession with Beauty Gurus on YouTube. If they say "buy this product," you bet I will. This was the case with this video by MissGlamorazzi. In it, she mentioned the Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser by Aveeno as part of her morning skincare routine, and like an obedient little lamb I went out and got it. I. LOVE. THIS!!! This is by far the best cleanser I've used, and I love how thick and.... cleansing the foam feels. It has, along with my Clarisonic, cleared my skin a lot, and no breakouts in this face! I use it every morning in the shower.

Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream - $13
My best makeup discovery in the past few months! I love this product, firstly because it's cheap, and also because it fits my skin tone perfectly. I'd been wanting to try out BB Creams for a few years now, but they were always super light, so I was thrilled to find this product, and even more amazed when I saw how great it actually works! It evens out my skin tone and makes my face look extra silky and moisturized. The only downside to this product is that it feels a bit greasy at first, but I like to fix it with my Bare Escentuals loose powder to fix it and mattify my skin.

NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil - $5
My go-to makeup look for the past few weeks, a messy smokey eye, is achieved with this handy product in the color "Slate," a charcoal gray. To do it, I apply a bit on my lids and smudge it with a brush up to the crease. Looks good!

Essie Nail Polish in "Marshmallow" - $8
Hands down, the best nail polish and color in the world. Essie is one of my favorite nail polish brands and this color has won my over. Yes, sometimes I go for darker, brighter colors but this classic, timeless shade will always be my favorite.

Soap & Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel - $14
Would you like to smell amazing? Use this body wash. Would you like your skin to feel clean and moisturized? Use this body wash. For real, buy it. Ok, I admit the super cute and adorable packaging was what first attracted me to this brand, but when I smelled it, I was completely sold. This is THE MOST AMAZING SCENT in the world. It's so luxurious. Reminds me of  Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel. And it leaves your skin feeling so silky and smooth. Ugh, I fucking love this.

So there you go. Those were my favorites for the month of March. What products did you love?

November 24, 2011

This year has been a roller coaster for me. I've had so many wonderful opportunities and met wonderful people, but it hasn't all been glitter and flowers. I've had to work hard for the things I've wanted, and nightmares I never wanted to realize came to life. Today, I will focus only in the positive aspects of my life, and these are a few of the things I'm thankful for:

The seven-month-long internship I did at El Nuevo Día, which opened the door for many journalistic and fashion opportunities I would've never dreamed of, such as covering Puerto Rico's main fashion event

Friends that have never left my side

Going to the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibit at the MET in New York

My boyfriend <3

And going to beautiful places with him

Graduating from college, finally!

Turning 23 years old, and being surprisingly okay with it

FInally, I'm thankful for all the people that take the time to view this little space of mine. Thank you!!

What about you? What has happened this year that you're thankful for? Who do you give thanks for?
Happy Thanksgiving!
